TTMA collabs with MoH on vaccination drive

The Trinidad and Tobago Manufacturers’ Association (TTMA) in partnership with the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Trade and Industry (MTI) will conduct its 1st vaccination drive for the business community today at the Divali Nagar Site from 8am – 4pm for 1st dose vaccination only of the Sinopharm vaccine.

The Ministry of Health has sanctioned the administration of vaccines to be supervised by President of the T&T Medical Association, Dr. Vishi Y. Beharry (B.Sc., M.B.B.S., Dip. Emergency Medicine).

President of the TTMA, Ms. Tricia Coosal stated, “We are enthused by this opportunity presented to us by the MOH in conjunction with the MTI. We are honoured to be the first private entity to be allowed to set up and partner with the Government of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago (GoRTT) in the execution of a vaccination site. After actively lobbying for vaccines we are heartened to know that the GoRTT recognizes that this initiative will positively affect lives and livelihoods.

Ms. Coosal further added, “This unprecedented partnership between public and private sector in our fight against the COVID-19 virus is the personification of the adage – we are all in this together.”

TTMA created a ‘vaccination drive’ database utilizing business community members who shared their employees contact information to ensure vaccine appointments were secured. The TTMA also utilised its full complement of staff for management of this project i.e. database management and call agents to contact persons on appointment schedules. TTMA members generously supplied other mandatory requirements for vaccines sites e.g. ambulance services, administrative staff, security and other relevant services.

This vaccination drive would not have been possible without the invaluable voluntary services of Dr. Vishi Beharry and the Doctors and Nurses of the T&T Medical Association who have dedicated their time to supporting the drive for vaccination in Trinidad & Tobago.

The TTMA Board of Directors would like to thank the following:
the Honourable Minister Paula Gopee-Scoon (Minister of Trade and Industry)
the Honourable Minister Terrence Deyalsingh (Minister of Health)
Dr. Roshan Parasram (Chief Medical Officer)
Dr. Vishi Beharry along with the Doctors and Nurses of the T&T Medical Association
the Divali Nagar’s National Council of Indian Culture (NCIC)
President of Sewa International TT, Revan Teelucksingh
TTMA Members
TTMA Employees

TTMA fully supports the vaccination drive by the GoRTT and will do all in its power to ensure the safety of lives and livelihoods.
