T&TEC Urges Customers To Conserve Electricity Following Power Failure

Consumers of the Trinidad and Tobago Electricity Commission are being urged to conserve the commodity as there are several benefits which can arise from this approach.

One of the benefits is saving on the gas which is used to produce electricity.

TATEC’s General Manager, Kelvin Ramsook, says during visits to different parts of the country he has noticed practises by members of the public which does not contribute to conservation of electricity.

Conservation, Mr Ramsook said will save on utility cost, the overall costs and the country is going to benefit.

Mr Ramsook gave the advice on the heels of Tuesday’s power failure in Central Trinidad.

The outage lasted for thirty-five minutes, it occurred at 6:55 and at 7:35 all affected customers were restored.
