T&TEC “conserve electricity”

T&TEC’s customers in Trinidad are being asked to conserve electricity, as the National Gas Company (NGC) conducts expansion work on its network.

The work is scheduled to take place on Sunday December 8, from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., and has the potential to affect NGC’s supply of gas to the Trinidad Generation Unlimited (TGU) Power Station.

In the unlikely event that the NGC’s work does affect its gas supply to TGU, it may result in a temporary loss of electricity supply to customers across Trinidad.

As a precaution, T&TEC is appealing to customers to minimise their use of non-essential, high-energy appliances and equipment, such as air conditioning units, dryers and water-heaters, to reduce the risk of load shedding on Sunday, between the hours of 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

T&TEC apologises for any inconvenience that may be caused to customers during this period.
