TTCG reminds the boating public that crossing the border without authorization is illegal

On the night of 05 May 2020, the Trinidad and Tobago Coast Guard intercepted a vessel that was returning to Trinidad from Venezuela with three persons on board without the necessary authorization from the Minister of National Security.

According to a media release issued by the TTCG, this afternoon the vessel and the persons were handed over to the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service, and the Immigration and Customs Divisions for further investigation.

The TTCG would like to remind the boating public that crossing the border during the Covid-19 pandemic is illegal and puts the health of the population of Trinidad and Tobago at unnecessary risk.

The T&T Coast Guard is seeking the co-operation of all persons in reducing the risk of the virus entering Trinidad and Tobago and is asking individuals to obey the country’s current regulations.
