T&T To Focus On Boosting Food Security With Backing Of CARICOM Neighbours, Says Prime Minister

Trinidad and Tobago is in support of agriculture plans which were discussed at the recently held heads of government meeting in Suriname aimed at boosting food security.

Prime Minister, Dr Keith Rowley, at Thursday’s post cabinet media briefing, said the move has the backing of Guyana, Suriname and Belize.

It will focus on using land space available in those countries to help boost food production which will be utilised within the Caribbean Community.

The Prime Minister said, on July 19th, an agro-investment meeting will be held where representatives from the private and public sector and the region will explore opportunities to boost food security.
