TT Hosting Caribbean Development Bank’s Technical Team

In Trinidad and Tobago at this time is the Caribbean Development Bank’s Technical Team.

The team is on a Preparation Mission for the purpose of facilitating the groundwork associated with a Technical Assistance Loan.

This is for the priority relocation of the Scarborough Secondary School, Tobago and to provide any assistance towards the coastal protection needs in Tobago.

The Ministry of Planning and Development’s Technical Team led by Deputy Permanent Secretary Ric Ali facilitated meetings on Tuesday with the CDB’s Technical Team, led by Lennox O’Reilly Lewis, Division Chief of the Economic Infrastructure Division.

The teams held discussions with the Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Works and Transport and the Office of Disaster Preparedness and Management.

The meetings were held at the Ministry’s Head Office Eric Williams Financial Building, Port of Spain in a “hybrid” approach this is, in-person and virtually.

These discussions were follow-ups coming out of previous meetings in January 2022; held with the CDB’s President Dr Gene Leon, and Minister of Finance Colm Imbert and newly inaugurated Tobago House of Assembly members.

During those meetings interest was concretized for the relocation and rebuild of the secondary school.
