Trinidad and Tobago has until December 15 to submit a report on its state of readiness to receive Covid19 vaccines once approved by the World Health Organzation (WHO).
This was reported by Health Minister, Terrence Deyalsingh during Wednesday’s media briefing.
Deyalsingh said the ministry meets virtually with the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) every Monday and Wednesday, and that last week, it was given the list of requirements to receive the vaccine.
Among the requirements, is that the Ministry establish a multi-disciplinary team, with a leader, logistics, finance, communications, and monitoring and evaluating – all of which the ministry has already set up.
He said TT has to meet a total of 18 requirements to be able to do so and the report is almost complete.
Once it is submitted, TT must report to PAHO “every other month afterward on our state of readiness.
Deyalsingh said PAHO is already quite happy with where TT is are now, but he said that the ministry has to submit a formal report by December 15.”
