TT Gets Specific Two Year License For Manakin/Coquina Gas Field Development

Trinidad and Tobago gets a specific license from the Office of Foreign Assets Control in America, the second one of this kind, through Energy companies, BP and NGC to work in Venezuela for the Manakin/Coquina Gas Field.

The terms of this license are similar to that of the license received for the Dragon Gas Deal with Venezuela.

Minister of Energy and Energy Industries, Stuart Young, made the disclosure during a news briefing held on Wednesday.

It was revealed this means Trinidad and Tobago can now pursue the exploration, production and export of gas from this gas field.

The license is valid for two years and will expire on May 31st 2026.

Competency in diplomacy and the country’s ability to stay engaged with decision makers in the White House and elsewhere in the US Government are cited as factors which contributed to this positive outcome.
