The Trinidad and Tobago Chamber of Industry and Commerce is calling on the state to address the increase in crime with a swift and effective action plan to eliminate the recent criminal activities in society.
The Chambers is also calling on lawmakers and those governing the country to set aside partisan positions to put in place the legislation that will protect citizens.
In this regard, the Chamber is appealing for urgent action on bail reform and other elements of the justice system.
In a media release on Friday afternoon, the Chamber said the government needs to act swiftly and urgently to eradicate this level of crime in the country that continues to put fear and heartache on the shoulders of law-abiding citizens.
The Chamber said it stands ready to collaborate with Government in the interest of urgent action.
