TT Assured Health Care Of ICU Patients Not Compromised

There is an assurance the quality of health care is not unduly compromised for patients at the Intensive Care Unit at the nation’s public hospitals.

This update was given to the Senate by Minister of Health, Terrence Deyalsingh Tuesday afternoon.

Minister Deyalsingh was at the time responding to a question posed to him by Opposition Senator, Wade Mark.

Senator Mark asked given the statement by the President of the Trinidad & Tobago Registered Nurses Association, that patient care is being compromised owing to a critical shortage of specialized ICU nurses, can the Minister state what is being done to address the issue?

In response, Minister Deyalsingh said he had been reliable informed by senior hospital managers high standards are being maintained.
