A 30-year-old truck driver from Rio Claro was granted bail in the sum of twelve thousand dollars or a cash alternative of three thousand dollars when he appeared before Acting Senior Magistrate Ava Vandenburg-Bailey, at the Mayaro Magistrates’ Court Monday.
RAVI RAMOUTAR pleaded guilty to the charge of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, and was also ordered to have no contact with the victim, his ex-girlfriend.
The matter was adjourned to November 22nd, 2021.
Around 9 am on September 30th 2021, a woman left her home in company with the accused who was driving a black Ford Ranger vehicle.
While driving along the Naparima Mayaro Road, Mayaro, they got into an argument and the accused allegedly dealt her several cuffs to her face.
A report was made at the Rio Claro Police Station on 1st October, 2011 and investigations were conducted by the Gender Based Violence Unit, which resulted in the arrest of the accused on October 17th , 2021.
