Trinis nominated for 2020 African Entertainment Awards USA

Trinidadian Reggae & Dancehall Singer, Jahllano and Professional Dancer/ Choreographer Melinda Etienne have been nominated for awards at the 6th annual 2020 African Entertainment Awards USA (AEAUSA).

According to Caribbean Entertainment Hub, Jahllano has been nominated in the ‘Best Male Artist’ category.

He is among ten other nominees such as WizKid, Davido, Burna Boy, Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy.

Jahllano, real name Llano Grant, hails from Laventille and although he revealed that the nomination was not a surprise to his team, he thanked his friends and family in an Instagram post recently.

“Firstly, I’d like to thank Jah for this…then I say thanks to my family, my team, friends and fans.”

“I need your help with this, every vote counts. So to all my supporters and to all my Trinbago ppl, let’s do this together.”

“I’m very humbled to be nominated for ‘Best Male Artist’ for the African Entertainment Awards USA’.”

Jahllano is known for hits such as War Dem Want and Need a Change.

He is currently managed by Hilltop Entertainment.

Meanwhile, Trinidadian Dancer Melinda Etienne has been nominated in the ‘Best Dancer/Group’ category.

She will also compete against ten other nominees for the award.

Melinda is the owner of the Melinda Etienne Dance Company and has a Bachelor of Fine Arts, with a major in Dance.

She has collaborated with some of Trinidad’s popular soca stars including  Machel Montano and Nailah Blackman.

The AEAUSA will take place at 8:00 pm on December 12 in New Jersey

The AEAUSA has been honoring African excellence since 2015 with over 30 awards presented each year during a two-day event.

The Awards celebrates and honors practitioners across all crafts and industry sectors, including Entertainment, Entrepreneurship and Community Leadership.
