170 Trinis take advantage of Galleons Passage repatriation sailing from SVG

Trinidadians living and working in St Vincent and the Grenadines jumped at the opportunity of last night’s repatriation sailing of the MV Galleons Passage back to Port of Spain.

The vessel was sanitised around 7PM, prior to the boarding and approximately 170 nationals were onboard.

All individuals will be quarantined on their arrival to Trinidad.

The Galleons Passage made the journey to St Vincent on Tuesday afternoon taking with it humanitarian aid and military personnel, while arrangements were also made for TT citizens trapped on the island to return home on Wednesday evening.

Travel exemptions had been waived by the Minister of National Security Stuart Young and the process was open to anyone who has a TT passport and wishes to return home.

Vincentians who had been granted exemptions were also allowed to apply to board the MV Galleons Passage.

The vessel was allowed limited capacity due to covid19 protocols, which meant that not everyone wanting to leave was able to.
