Trinidad & Tobago Has No Intentions Of Approaching The IMF For Help, Says Minister Manning

Trinidad and Tobago does not intend to engage the International Monetary Fund for financial help.

Confirmation of this comes from Minister in the Ministry of Finance, Brian Manning.

Minister Manning was speaking during an interview on the Power Breakfast Show on Power 102 Digital, Thursday.

Mr Manning noted that some Caribbean countries are seeking IMF help at this time. However, Trinidad and Tobago is not in such a position.

Minister Manning said under IMF arrangements countries are required to make certain adjustments in term of managing their economies.

Mr Manning said the country has made strides in stabilising the economy, been able to address the deficit situation and create opportunities.
