Trinidad Petroleum Holding Handling Bidding And Proposals Process Relating To The Pointe-a-Pierre Refinery

Trinidad Petroleum Holding Limited is responsible for dealing with the bidding and proposals process relating to the Pointe-a-Pierre refinery.

Tourism Minister, Randall Mitchell, revealed this at Friday’s sitting of the Senate when he provided an update on the sale of the refinery.

He said the government hopes by the end of July, “feasible proposals will be received”, which will go through a proper evaluation process.

Evaluations are still underway for the company, Mitchell said to ensure its viability, TPHL continues to invest in it.

He said the government has a refinery available “for any entity that puts forward a workable and feasible proposal that makes sense.”

TPHL received numerous proposals for the refinery and as a result, the company’s board decided to have independent and international experts to evaluate the proposals with the intention to advise them as to the feasibility of such.
