Trinidad James claims new sneaker does not represent the national flower

The National Flower of Trinidad and Tobago is, the Chaconia, (Warszewiczia Coccinea), called “Wild Poinsetta” or “Pride of Trinidad and Tobago” is a flaming red forest flower of the family Rubianceae.

The title is in honour of the last Spanish Governor of Trinidad and Tobago, Don Jose Maria Chacon.

U.S rapper and born and bred, native of T&T, Trinidad James made several huge errors online when he branded a new sneaker with the tag ‘T&T’s national flower’ The Hibiscus.

Then in correcting his error said sorrel comes from the Hibiscus flower.

Sorrel has its origins in West Africa. Known as Roselle, or less by its scientific name ‘Hibiscus sabdariffa’, sorrel is a species of the Hibiscus family. It bears annually, maturing in about six months and growing to about 7–8 ft.

The rapper teamed up with Saucony to create a Jazz that’s launching alongside his new brand Hommewrk. The shoe is dressed in a vivid red and pink color scheme and features a translucent toe box. Additional features include a Hommewrk logo debossed on the tongue and gold aglets on the red laces.

While the sneaker is lovely it seems James didn’t do his homework.

However Trinidad James statement online after being called out on social media where he made the error.
