Trinbago Knight Riders Secure Win In CPL Opener

58 runs from Tion Webster helped Trinbago Knight Riders Men’s Cricketers secure a three wicket victory in their opening match of the prestigious Caribbean Premier League against St Lucia Kings today at Warner Park, St Kitts.

The match started at 10am.

Set 144 to win, TKR made 148 for 7 off 19.2 overs.

Webster’s time at the crease was made up off 45 balls, six fours and three sixes.

Tim Seifert of New Zealand also provided support to the innings with 34 runs.

West Indies fast bowler, Alzarri Joseph, was the chief wicket taker for Kings with figures for four for 17 runs from four overs.

Earlier, spinner Akeal Hosein had impressive bowling figures of 4 wickets for 13 runs off 4 overs which helped to restrict Kings for 143 for 9 off their 20 overs.

Jayden Seales was also among the wickets taking 2 for 38 runs from 3 overs.

Roshon Primus top scored for the Kings with 38 runs while Trinidadian Mark Deyal made 35 runs.

TKR will play their second match of the CPL Tournament against defending Champions St Kitts and Nevis Patriots on Saturday at 7pm.
