Trade Minister says measures coming to address rise in cement prices

Trade Min Paula Gopee-Scoon says several initiatives have been implemented to address the rise in the cost of cement.

She gave the assurance in light of a question posed by Opposition Senator Wade Mark.

Senator Mark inquired as to what measures are being put in place to protect consumers in light of the announcement by Trinidad Cement Limited of an increase in the price of cement.

Minister Gopee-Scoon added she is unable to say exactly how this would affect TCL pricing plans but anticipated that these measures should see some benefit to the public.
