Minister of Trade and Industry, Paula Gopee-Scoon, on Friday held preliminary discussions with President of the Supermarket Association of Trinidad and Tobago, Rajiv Diptee, relating to food prices.
In a media release, the Ministry of Trade said there was agreement the discussions will continue with the Executive of SATT early next week.
The release said Minister of Agriculture, Land and Fisheries, Kazim Hosein, will also participate in these discussions as all stakeholders continue to collaborate to ensure that quality basic food items remain affordable and available to the population.
