Tracy in support of amending THA Act, says 15 seats would work

PNM Tobago Council leader, Tracy Davidson-Celestine said she is all for the increasing of seats on the sister isle from 12 to 15.

Speaking to media following PNM’s general council meeting, Davidson-Celestine said “We are in support of the Prime Minister’s position that we need to amend the THA Act and two, we need to take cognizance of the fact that we cannot go back to the Tobago population with 12 seats.”

She said after discussions with the Tobago people in the past, 15 seats would work.

“The 15 did not come out of a hat. It came out over a period of four, five maybe as many as six years of consultations with the Tobago public,” she said.

Davidson-Celestine added “I have indicated our support from the Tobago Council of the PNM and I am sure I can speak on behalf of the Chief Secretary in this particular exercise. We have been very consistent in our position in that we must go back to the polls.”
