Tobagonians are being warned occupancy levels at the island’s public hospital can go up with the confirmation of the Delta Variant of Covid-19 on the island.
The caution is coming from Acting Medical Chief of Staff, Dr Victor Wheeler.
Dr Wheeler said although there was a drop in the occupancy level of persons being admitted to the hospital for the virus recently he predicted this could change quickly with the arrival of the Delta variant in the sister isle.
Dr Wheeler said its critical people continue to adhere to the various public health regulations and get vaccinated against the virus.
Dr Wheeler made the remarks while addressing a news briefing on Thursday.
