Tobagonians have received their salary relief grants

According to Health Secretary Councillor Tracy Davidson-Celestine, there are no outstanding payments to be made to Tobagonians who applied for national COVID-19 Salary Relief Grants.

During a media briefing on Tuesday, the Secretary said that as of the last fiscal year, the Division of Health, Wellness and Family Development has paid out $6 million in Rental Assistance Grants to 800 applicants.

She said approximately 100 applications for the Rental Assistance Grants are yet to be processed because of outstanding documents, and once these are received those applications will be processed.

She then reminded the public about being vaccinated, stating that the vaccines are free of charge.
Davidson-Celestine also revealed that a Tobago Help Desk has been established at the Ministry of Social Development and Family Services.

Additionally, the Drug Rehabilitation Programme is being assessed to determine whether or not there’s a demand for those services at this time.

Once the assessment is completed and the services are needed, the Division will put things in place so persons in need can access those services.
Also in attendance at the briefing was County Medical Officer of Health (Ag.), Dr Tiffany Hoyte who provided the island’s clinical update.
