Tobago to receive 3,000 Sinopharm doses on Monday

The Ministry of Health will be sending 3,000 doses of the Sinopharm vaccine to Tobago on Monday.

This announcement of the allocation of Covid shots to the sister isle, comes just as the Tobago Regional Health Authority (TRHA) revealed that it has just under 15 per cent of its allocated vaccines left.

The 3,000 doses were allocated out of the 200,000 doses the Ministry of Health purchased from China.

So far, 7,951 people have received a first shot, (4,149 AstraZeneca doses and 3,802 Sinopharm doses), while a total of 1,238 people have received their two doses.

With 45,000 people in Tobago aged 18 and over eligible for vaccinations, the division is hoping to have 10,000 people vaccinated with at least one dose by the end of next week and 36,000 people as their overall vaccination target.
