Tobago records no new cases of Covid in last 5 days

Tobago’s County Medical Officer of Health Dr Tiffany Hoyte, has reported that the sister isle has not recorded any new covid19 cases these past five days.

During the Division of Health, Wellness and Family Development’s media briefing on Tuesday, Hoyte said the island currently has 16 active cases.

She said at the facilities, “We have two persons located at the (covid19 treatment) facilities at the Fort (King George) and one person at our step-down facility, no person in our ICU.”

To date, 1,606 samples have been submitted to the Tobago Regional Health Authority and other local sites for testing, of which 106 returned positive.

With regards to the severe blood shortage in Tobago, the TRHA is continuing with its Blood Donation Drive until December 31 2020.

Persons are invited to call the Blood Bank, Scarborough General Hospital at 660-4744 ext. 3101, to make appointment to donate blood between Monday to Saturday.
