Tobago records 2 new Covid cases after one month with no infections

After an entire month without anyone contracting the Covid-19 virus Tobago has now recorded two new cases.

The two new infections were among 15 confirmed from samples taken between November 22 and 24 nationally.

To date, 1,757 samples have been submitted to the Tobago Regional Health Authority (TRHA) and other local sites for testing.

Secretary for the division Tracy Davidson-Celestine recently cautioned the public, reminding them of the importance of wearing their masks. She said although there was no active covid19 case Tobago was not free of the virus.

“We have been vigilant, knowing that covid19 might be hidden among us.

“We urge the public to take all the precautions seriously. We don’t want to see a surge in infections and the only way we can do this is with the public’s support. Let’s do the right thing. Where there is one there is going to be more. This virus is real and with us every day. Let’s get those masks on and covid19 out,” she said.
