Tobago man charged for 2020 murder

A man has been charged with murder where the victim was shot in 2019, but died in 2020.
JAMEEL LEGALL was charged with murder on Thursday 21st January, 2021, following the advice of Director of Public Prosecutions, Roger Gaspard SC.

LEGALL, 27, of Bay Hill, Glamorgan, Tobago, was previously charged with attempted murder, relative to the Saturday 9th November 2019 shooting of KENNETH JACK. However, JACK succumbed to his injuries on Tuesday 27th October, 2020 at the Scarborough General Hospital.

Extensive enquiries were conducted by officers of the Homicide Region One Office under the supervision of Acting Senior Superintendent Vena Butler. On Sunday 17th January 2021, members of the Special Operations Response Team (S.O.R.T.) and officers of the Tobago Division embarked on an operation in the Tobago Division at Bay Hill, Glamorgan, where they arrested LEGALL, relative to the homicide of KENNETH JACK.

LEGALL is expected to appear virtually at the Scarborough Magistrates’ Court today to answer to the charge.
