Tobago cop shot while trying to make an arrest; suspect and another man also hit

An off-duty police officer was shot and wounded during an attempted arrest in Tobago on Wednesday,

Two other men were also injured during the incident, which took place in Goodwood.

According to reports, Sergeant Collin Stewart attempted to arrest a man in Goodwood and a struggle ensued.

Stewart fell to the ground and the man grabbed the officer’s firearm, leading to Stewart being shot in the arm.

The officer continued to struggle with the man despite being shot and the suspect was then shot when he tried to take the firearm a second time.

The suspect’s friend was shot in the shoulder when he tried to intervene.

All three men were treated at Scarborough Hospital.
