Tobago At Fifty-Six Percent Vaccination Target.

The Secretary of Division of Health, Wellness and Family Development, Tracy Davidson-Celestine, says Tobago has hit fifty-six percent of its vaccination target with more than twenty-thousand people taking at least their first shot.

Secretary Davidson Celestine said almost forty-five percent of the targeted thirty-six thousand people are fully vaccinated on the Island.

Secretary Davidson Celestine said it has been an uphill battle in Tobago to get people, parents and their children, to step up for the COVID-19 vaccine.

The Division along with the Tobago Regional Health Authority have launched an island wide community vaccination campaign roving from street to street, door to door with intense education and awareness, in an effort to increase the rate of vaccination.

Almost one hundred per cent of the COVID deaths in Tobago are among unvaccinated people.

Persons with underlying health conditions are among the majority of COVID-19 deaths.
