TKR Defeats Guyana Amazon Warriors In CPL League Game

Trinbago Knight Riders lost to Guyana Amazon Warriors in their final group stage of the Caribbean Premier T20 League match at Providence National Stadium on Saturday night.

Guyana, playing in front of their home crowd, won by six wickets.

Warriors which finished this round of the tournament on 15 points and TKR 13 points will meet in Wednesday night’s Qualifier 1 at 7pm.

TKR which rested three keys in Nicolas Pooran , Andre Russell and Sunil Narine made 176 for 8 from 20 overs.

Keacy Carty led the way with a well played 83 runs.

His time at the wicket included seven boundaries and four sixes.

It came off 46 balls.

Player of the match, Imran Tahir, got three wickets for 12 runs from four overs.

In reply Warriors was led by Shai Hope with 54 not out which helped guide the side  to 177 for 4  from 18.2 overs with 10 balls remaining.

Summarised scores: Guyana Amazon Warriors 177/4 (Hope 54*, Smith 44; Deyal 1/21, Hinds 1/26) beat Trinbago Knight Riders 176/8 (Carty 83, Deyal 37; Tahir 3/12, Paul 1/11) by 6 wickets.

In matches today, Defending Champions Jamaica Tallawahs are playing against third place St Lucia Kings.

In the second game at 7pm Warriors will face off against Barbados Royals.
