Central Division police on Friday detained three suspects in Freeport, in connection with a stolen car.
The men, who hail from Barataria and Morvant, and are between the ages of 20 and 29, were found in a stolen car parked on the roadside.
The police said around 1.45 pm, acting Cpl Sarran, PC Cummings of the Task Force (Area South) and PC Boodoosingh of the Couva CID were on mobile patrol and got a report of a suspicious car parked along Raphael Road, Mission Road in Freeport with four male occupants.
The officers responded and saw a white Nissan Tiida parked on the roadside with three occupants.
Other police were alerted, and the officers found the number plates fake.
Further checks of the chassis number and inspection sticker found that the car was stolen on August 8 at 19th Street in Edinburgh 500, Chaguanas.
The men are expected to be placed on several identification parades in the next few days.
