Two men and a woman are dead after a fracas at a bar on upper El Socorro road in San Juan. The woman, Ria John, was injured and taken to hospital where she later died, the two dead men are yet to be identified. Reports indicate the incident took place at 5:30am outside the bar, when a fracas started and a police officer tried to intervene.
A mob like situation was in full swing with many persons fighting and eventually several shots rang out and people started to scamper. The police Sergeant was trampled and some people also reportedly started to assault the officer kicking him in his head, chest and body.
After the incident it was discovered that two men and the woman had been shot. The three were taken to hospital in addition to the officer who was warded. The men were also pronounced dead. Their names have yet to be released. Police have recovered CCTV footage from a nearby establishment and are continuing investigations.
