Three arrested for breaching COVID regulations

Officers of the Western Division Task Force were called out to disperse three different gatherings between 10 pm on February 20th and 3:30 am on February 21st, 2021.

The officers proceeded to Rodney Street, Point Cumana, where they observed a large group of persons gathering along the roadway in the vicinity of a bar.

On arrival, all persons were warned about breaching the Public Health Ordinance Regulations, namely, failure to wear a mask in public and the opening of a bar after the stipulated closing time.

Three persons were arrested at the location for disorderly conduct, use of obscene language as well as enquiries into the opening of the bar beyond the regulated time.

The officers continued to Waterhole, Cocorite, and Hudson Street, St. James, where gatherings of approximately 60 persons and 40 persons respectively were observed and dispersed.

The officers cautioned both groups relative to the COVID-19 protocols and also seized one music system at Waterhole, Cocorite, pending further enquiries.

The group at Hudson Street dispersed quickly without further incident
