The World Health Organization is now advising countries that the best solution to curb the spread of the Coronavirus would be the use of masks.
Speaking during a live Facebook media briefing this morning, Executive Director, WHO Health Emergencies Programme, Dr. Michael J Ryan said that the best action for persons at risk and those who have been tested positive for COVID-19 would be the use of masks.
He also said that wearing masks does not negate the fact that individuals ought to keep practicing good hygiene, by washing their hands and using hand sanitizer.
Dr. Ryan also said that while the call for social distancing may be difficult for some, he is advising that the use of surgical and medical masks ought to be kept for front line workers.
He also advised that front line responders, ought to be equipped with suitable with proper PPE gear when caring for the sick.
