The Opposition calls for a reversion to normal speaking time in the parliament

Opposition Chief Whip, David Lee, says he has written to the government and the Speaker of the House of Representatives requesting that the speaking time of Members of Parliament should be reverted to normal.

He said adjustments made in the parliament in light of the COVID-19 pandemic saw MP’s speaking for twenty minutes.

At a news briefing held at the Office of the Leader of the Opposition in Port of Spain Office this afternoon, Mr Lee referred to the response he got.

He said on Friday the government will be seeking to get the Opposition’s support for an additional two point seven billion dollars to manage the country’s affairs.

In light of this, the opposition will need adequate time to put forward its positions points.
