Minister of Finance, Colm Imbert, says by Wednesday this week the first batch of applicants for the Salary Relief Grant should start receiving the government’s financial support put in place to cushion the impact of COVID-19.
During a statement in the House of Representatives this afternoon, Minister Imbert made the revelation.
Minister Imbert also indicated that over one hundred million dollars have been paid by the state in Income Tax Refunds.
He also said the country stands to lose over nine billion dollars due to developments related to the COVID-19 pandemic.
He then offered an insight into government’s approach moving forward.
