The Ministry of Works and Transport is advising the public that there will be a temporary traffic disruption along the Southern Main Road, Mc Bean, Couva 31.5 km mark, (Junction of Southern Main Road and Calcutta Road No.1).
The Ministry says this is necessary in order to facilitate the Replacement of a Cylinder Crossing.
Works are expected to commence on Tuesday, Apri 12th, at 7:00 p.m., until Wednesday, April 13th, at 5:00am.
The following alternative route is available via:
- Camden Road, Base Road, Calcutta Road No.2 Ext, Calcutta Road No.2, Calcutta Road No.1, Sonny Ladoo Trace
In light of the above, motorists are advised to comply with the following:-
- Local traffic ONLY would be allowed to traverse up to the work zone and not beyond.
- Proceed with caution and observe all directional signs and barriers.
- Comply with instructions from Police Officers or flag persons on-site, to facilitate a safe and orderly flow of traffic.
- Be aware of heavy equipment in the work zone and entering/exiting the site.
- Motorists should drive at a reduced speed and proceed with caution, on approaching the work zone.
