A 17-year-old boy held on allegations of shooting a male relative is among the first group of persons to be denied bail for 120 days under the recently proclaimed Bail (amendment) Act. The Bill became Law just this past Monday . COP Gary Griffith is on record as saying the new Law will be a great tool in the fight against crime .
The Bail Law denies the option of bail for 120 days, to a person charged with a listed offence that is punishable for a term of imprisonment of ten years or more.
