Teenager charged with stabbing

19 year old Tryese Calliste appeared before Senior Magistrate JoAnne Connor in relation to an Independence day stabbing at South Park.

He was charged with the malicious wounding of Joshua Trimm. It is alleged that he stabbed Trimm in the back.

Calliste was represented by attorney Frank Gittens, who in his bid for bail, petitioned that his client was a mason and woodworking student who lived with his mother in Oropouche. The attorney added that his client had no passport and therefore could not be considered a flight risk and had no criminal record.

He was granted $20,000.00 bail or $3500.00 cash alternative.
