The Director of Public Prosecutions has advised police to charge the 47-year-old husband of Suzette Sylvester with her murder.
Kurt Sylvester, a loans officer at Republic Bank, was charged with the murder on Thursday evening.
Suzette, a 48-year-old mother of two and secondary school teacher, died from head injuries after she was beaten with a hammer.
Her body was found around 6am on Monday, 4th January at her home at Mowlah Road Extension, Preysal, Couva.
The charge against the husband comes hours before her funeral, which is carded for today at 9.30 a.m.
Kurt Sylvester will appear virtually before a Couva Magistrate.
