T’bgo records its 24th murder

Yet another murder in Tobago as 24 year old Nicholas Mitchell became the 24th person to be murdered on the island this year.

This was the second murder in the village of Argyle in less than 48 hours.

According to police reports at around 2 a.m. yesterday, Ann Marie Mitchell was at home when she heard two gunshots and heard her son, Nicholas, a labourer, yell out.

He had been shot several times and died minutes later.

She described her son as a little troublesome but not heavily involved in criminal activity.

The mother revealed she warned her son about liming on the block and was not surprised to hear he was killed.

His mother believes that he was one of many marked for death in the community following the murder of Beetham resident Amanda Guerra or ‘Dolly Boss’ in August.

A week after her murder gunmen attacked Mitchell at a grocery in Argyle.

However he escaped the gunmen by swimming to another village.

A Doctor, who was in a vehicle when the gunfire began, was shot while trying to shield her baby from the hail of bullets.

Head of the Tobago Business Chamber Martin George responded to the news of Tobago’s 24th murder.

He referred to the murder situation on the sister isle as a runaway horse.
