The South-West Regional Health Authority confirms an infant is currently receiving care by its medical professionals.
Initial reports say the child was found at one of the hallways at the San Fernando General Hospital.
In a media statement Monday, the SWRHA said an investigation is underway to determine the circumstances which led to this unfortunate incident.”
Media report say the SWRHA has alerted the relevant partner state agencies to provide all the necessary assistance as required.
