The Trinidad and Tobago Solid Waste Management Company Limited is advising users of the Beetham Landfill to utilize either the Guanapo or Forres Park landfill site temporarily.
SWMCOL issued the advice as it reported a fire at the Transfer Station Tire Recycling Facility at Sea Lots.
In a media release on Monday, SWMCOL said after a failed attempt to remove tires to fuel today’s protest on the PBR and Eastern Main Road, the stock pile was set ablaze by residents.
It also advised residents of the surrounding areas and commuters to exercise caution.
