Suspect charged with Port of Spain robberies

An investigation into a spate of personnel and delivery truck robberies which occurred between March and June of this year in Port of Spain, led to the arrest of a 28-year-old man on Friday 9th July, 2021.

Shaquille Rogers, of Nelson Street, Port of Spain, was formally charged yesterday by W/Ag Cpl De Roche for robbery with aggravation which occurred on March 24th 2021. He was also charged with two counts of robbery with aggravation by WPC Richards in relation to an incident which occurred on June 30th, 2021. He is expected to appear virtually at the Port of Spain Magistrates’ Court today.

The investigation involved the combined efforts of members of the Port of Spain Criminal Investigations Department (CID) as well as the Analytical Unit and Strategic Operations Team. It included W/Insp Hospedales-Yearwood, Ag Insp Farrell, W/Ag Cpl De Roche, and WPC Richards.
