One of the survivors from Saturday’s deadly police-involved shooting incident says the only thing they had in their car that could be considered a weapon was a “flip knife.”
Police said they recovered a Smith and Wesson pistol in the car.
However the survivor, who was identified only as Jeremiah, from Beetham Gardens, denied police found any weapon in the car.
He said CCTV footage of the incident will corroborate the group’s version of events.
Jeremiah said the footage will show police opening fire on the vehicle and killing innocent people.
He was in police custody in connection with the incident before being released without charge.
During the incident, Jeremiah said he was seated on the left side in the back of the car.
He could not say why police pursued them but said the trouble began when they tried to turn onto Chacon Street in Port-of-Spain.Police shooting survivo
