Supermarket owners are being warned that the sale of over the counter food is not allowed.
The warning comes after police swooped down on the Food Giant Supermarket in Barataria on Tuesday and shut down their sale of cooked food.
Supermarkets are deemed an essential service and are allowed to remain open but the issue of selling cooked meals remained a grey area.
President of the Supermarket Association, Rajiv Diptee, is today however clarifying the issue.
Mr Diptee also addressed the ongoing partnership between the Association and the TTPS.
The collaboration was initially aimed at addressing the month end rush at supermarkets.
However he revealed that the relationship will be extended.
