Sunshine newspaper editor Anthony Alexis found dead

Anthony Alexis, a veteran reporter and editor for the TT Mirror, Sunday Punch and the Bomb has died.

Alexis’ body was found at his Mount View, Paradise Gardens, Tacarigua home at around 7.05 pm on Monday, after residents reported a bad smell emanating from the house.

Police and fire officers had to cut the lock on the burglar proofing on the front door and on entering the house, saw a pool of blood on the living room floor which had dripped from the ceiling.

On further investigation, they found Alexis’ body with wounds to his forehead and mouth.

An autopsy is expected to be done on Friday.

Alexis was currently employed as an editor for the Sunshine newspaper and was last seen last week Thursday at a staff meeting.

Sunshine’s Editor-in-chief Jack Warner, said he was shocked and traumatised after hearing about Alexis’s death and sent condolences to his family.
