Sugar Aloes son shot dead in Brooklyn, New York

A Brooklyn man was shot dead on the street in broad daylight Friday, just steps from his apartment building.

The victim — identified by family as Ancil Blackman, 39, was identified as the son of T&T Calypsonian Sugar Aloes.

Blackman was shot and killed just after 5:30 p.m. outside the Miller Evangelical Christian Union Church, in Brooklyn, in the U.S.

According to a report in the Daily News online, witness Maryam Yehia, who works in a bodega said Blackman was face down on the floor, bleeding out of his mouth.

Police rushed to the scene, and video shows an officer administering CPR in a desperate attempt to save Blackman’s life.

Further reports also state that police made no arrests in the case as of Friday night.

Calls made to Sugar Aloes for comment proved futile.
