Stolen Vehicle Leads To Nine Months Hard Labour For San Fernando Man

MICAIAH REVEILLAC, 22, of Naparima Mayaro Road, Cocoyea Village, San Fernando was sentenced to nine months’ hard labour, Thursday.

He appeared before Magistrate Indira Misir-Gosine at the Princes Town Magistrates’ Court and pleaded guilty to a charge of larceny motor vehicle.

The charge was laid by PC Dennis following investigations into a report that occurred around 11:45 am on October 25th, 2021.

A 45- year-old Princes Town resident reported he last saw his grey Toyota AE-90 Corolla vehicle across the road from his home.

He had left it parked there due to mechanical issues.

He checked for the vehicle around 5 pm the same day and discovered it was missing.

The vehicle, which was valued at eight thousand dollars, had no alarm or GPS system installed.

PC Dennis of the Princes Town Criminal Investigations Department conducted enquiries which were led by Sergeant Teeluck and Acting Corporal Khan with the assistance of members of the CCTV Unit at the Barrackpore Police Station, Mon Repos Criminal Investigations Department, and the San Fernando Operations Unit.

The enquiries led to the arrest of the accused, who after being questioned, led police to Yallas Avenue, Tarodale, where the stolen vehicle was recovered.

He was subsequently charged for the offence.
