Sport Ministry launches ‘Pink Reign Campaign’

The Ministry of Sport and Community Development, ‘Pink Reign Campaign’ seeks to facilitate the development of women and girls by providing opportunities to increase awareness and participation in the key aspects of sport and physical activity.

International Women’s Day may just be one day but this campaign, according to the Ministry’s website will be executed using a comprehensive, four-pronged approach examining all areas of sport.

This includes:

  • Monthly panel discussions with topics ranging from the need for a cultural shift as it relates to women in sports, to sport entrepreneurship, diet and exercise
  • Social media stories highlighting and celebrating women in sport
  • Virtual training clinics and workshops
  • Virtual races -“GirlsRunTT” Challenge

“GirlsRunTT” Challenge

The #GirlsRunTT Challenge kicks off the MSCD’s Pink Reign Campaign and issues a call to all women and girls across Trinidad and Tobago to join the campaign to get physically active and participate in sports.

Launched in recognition of International Women’s Day 2021, the MSCD will enroll and sponsor 120 women and girls to participate in a number of virtual road races covering 70 miles between the months of March and August 2021.
