Spent shells containing Regiment markings found at murder scene in Piarco

Spent shells containing the markings of the TT Regiment were found at the scene of a murder in Piarco.

Dead is delivery driver Chandan Ramjit, who was killed when he went to drop off an order of hardware items at a location in Piarco.

The incident took place around 2:20pm on Monday.

Reports are that Ramjit, 52, of Hydraulic Trace, Caroni, was delivering goods at Queen’s Avenue, Three B’s Drive, Piarco North Bank Road, when he was confronted by three men, one of whom was armed with a gun.

It is alleged that Ramjit fought with the men and was shot several times. He died at the scene.

Forensic officials recovered nine spent shells–some of which contained TTR markings at the scene
Homicide detectives suspect the killing was a set up and are continuing enquiries.
